I like Porsche butts and I cannot lie

I freely admit it, I have a thing for Porsche. It’s not as big as my thing for Lego, but its still a thing. Aside from how they handle, how they accelerate and the raw sensation of power they evoke, they (generally) have some of the most beautiful lines of any car on the road.

I was wonderfully excited when Lego came out with the Porsche 911 GT3 Technic model a few years ago. Despite not being a big Technic person, I had to have it. I was equally thrilled when they began adding Porsche racing models to the Speed Champions theme. In 2015 they came out with set 75912 Porsche 911 GT Finish Line. In 2018 Lego followed on with set 75888 Porsche 911 RSR and 911 Turbo 3.0, again sticking with the racing theme for the models (i.e. lots of stickers).

The 2019 release of set 759885 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 was the most road ready vehicle yet in the Speed Champions theme. My thoughts, I love it. A lot. Even the included minifigure has less race track feel, with the minifig wearing a white t-shirt emblazoned with the Porsche crest beneath a brown leather jacket and optional hair in lieu of merely a racing helmet and visor.

I am continuing to enjoy the partnership between Lego and Porsche. I hope it continues… maybe with a Boxster in the future? We can only hope.
