Tower Plaza MOC build

Finally started the “real” build of my Inverted Corner MOC. Thanks to a pretty solid LUG-Bulk haul and my effort actually order much of what I need from BrickLink, I making solid progress. Since I am hoping to publish instructions for this model  – and especially since my design process for the initial Studio model was so convoluted, I decided to rebuild the Studio Model at the same time I am building the “real” model.  It has proven to be an enlightening addition to my design process.

Transitioning from a design completed in Studio to using real bricks is an interesting.  As much as I enjoy Studio as a design tool, you can’t always tell when connections aren’t solid, and sometimes the scale within the model gets lost. That’s the magic of working with real bricks. And remember, just because a part and color is available within the Studio menu doesn’t mean that part or parts aren’t extremely rare and wildly expensive.

I am also changing the name of this MOC.  I have been referring to it as Inverted Corner since the two Skinny MOD create an inverted corner, leaving an open plaza area.  The problem is, Inverted Corner is a horrible name. In an effort to have a less horrible name going forward, I hereby declare this MOC to be – Tower Plaza! It may not be an entirely great name, but definitely less horrible.  Long live Tower Plaza.

Stay tuned.  lost more building to come for Tower Plaza and I hope to share lots of those details here. Build on.
