The people and the puppies behind Belmont Bricks

A Long Explanation of a Short History: Belmont Bricks started in 2010 when I first truly embraced my emergence from the dark ages. I discovered Bricklink (www.bricklink.com) and started to buy and resell bulk parts and pieces as well as parting-out new sets. I have managed to stay active on  Bricklink over the years (I buy way more than I sell these days). I had to come up with a name for my Bricklink store and since I was living in the little town of Belmont, North Carolina at the time, I chose Belmont Bricks (www.bricklink.com/belmontbricks) had a nice ring to it. Still does.

Fast forward a few years, I moved up the road to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2011, but kept the Belmont Bricks store and name.  Over the last decade my career ran roughshod over my hobby much of the time, but my Lego collection grew substantially as did my interest in the greater AFOL and Lego community. This past year as I have established my own consulting business (that’s another story), I have re-imagined what Belmont Bricks might be, and I have lots of ideas.

So, what is Belmont Bricks? It’s an umbrella, a parent company, or more aptly, a stool with (at least) three legs.

  • Pile of Bricks Sportswear – Quality, original sportswear and casual clothing for the adult fan of the inter-locking plastic brick.
  • Bricks ‘N Brews NC – A series of mash-up events combining the concepts of a user-group/community build with tasty craft beers across North Carolina.
  • BrickScale Rulers & Tapes – Unique and useful tape measures and  rulers bridging the world between how we envision and measure with how minifigures would measure the world.

So that’s it.For now, that’s Belmont Bricks. Now time to get building.
