This is a kinda-MOC. I boldly stole the design from some posts I originally saw on Twitter. Being the Master Builder (that I sometimes I think I am) I attempted to reverse engineer the design and build a custom version for a good friend. My reverse engineering design would have worked perfect if the car didn’t require from and rear bumpers.
Not to be discouraged, I went to the internet and found the original designer’s how to video. My hat’s off to Frantisek Hajdekr and his ingenious design of this little red Corvette (especially the front and rear bumpers).
The only major change I made to Hajdekr’s design was the color. I have a good friend who has been instrumental in helping me figure out this whole webpage thing. He is fortunate enough to have a real Corvette Stingray C3 which he pulls out on warm sunny days. At some point in the beautiful car’s life, its original factory Brown was repainted a metallic burgundy.
To make it difficult on myself, I decided to be authentic as possible and build my friend a LEGO Dark Red version of his real life Corvette. Finding all the necessary parts and pieces in dark red created a challenge, but nothing compared to him trying to explain to me the difference between a Web Page and a Web Post.
I was pleased with the result and fortunately he was as well. Turns out a Corvette is a sexy little car in real life and in LEGO life.
